What does it mean to have a postable cap?
A postable cap is a pen that has the ability to allow the cap to be screwed or snapped onto the other end of the pen when it is open or in use. Most pens are designed to be balanced for writing without the cap, but many people worry that they will lose or misplace the cap for their pen if they are not able to store it on the pen. It is for these people the postable cap is recommended.
In tradition fine pens are designed for the cap to be left off to be admired, and to be balanced for writing without the cap on the pen.
Pens equipped for a postable cap will have a different end piece designed to allow the pen cap to be screwed or snapped on, whereas pens that follow tradition and are not designed with postable caps in mind usually have an end to large to accept the cap of the pen.

The Non-postable option on the left shows the traditional sleek look, the one on the right shows the new postable option for those worried about losing their pen caps.
Overall the traditional smooth end gives the pen a more smooth uniform and solid look, while the longer thinner end gives the pen a thinner, not quite as refined look, but for many the option to store the cap is a valuable option. It is up to you to balance the Pros and Cons and choose what will work best for you.
